About Bishop Brown

Bishop Robert Christopher Brown, III is the son of Evangelist Sherlene Brown and the late Robert Brown, Jr. He attended the Darlington County School System, and in 1993, graduated from Mayo High School. In 1999, he graduated from Morris College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. He earned his Masters of Administration from Grand Canyon University in July 2006. Bishop Brown has worked as a middle school math and science teacher, football and basketball coach, assistant principal (Marlboro County High School), and principal (Clio Elementary Middle School) in the Marlboro County School District.

In 1995, under the guided hand of his spiritual father Bishop William Young Jr., Bishop Brown became a licensed minister. He was ordained as an Elder in 2000, and in 2002, he was ordained as the youth pastor of Power Outreach Cathedral. He then served as the Assistant Pastor of The Refreshing Springs Family Worship Center, in Florence S.C, where Bishop William H. Young, Jr. is the Pastor and Presiding Prelate.

On May 13, 2007, Bishop Brown founded The Sword of Truth, in Bennettsville, SC.  The ministry relocated to Florence, SC. in the Summer of 2022.  Bishop Brown serves as the Board Chair of The W.I.N. Agency, the non-profit appendage to The Sword of Truth. This outreach vehicle has provided summer employment, summer and afterschool feeding programs for children, youth non-violence programs, and referrals to various community resources.

On August 21, 2011 Bishop Brown was consecrated to the bishopric by Bishop Michael Blue (Chief Consecrator), Bishop William Young Jr. (Co-Consecrator), and Apostle Michael Goings (Co-Consecrator).  Bishop Brown serves as the Presiding Prelate of Kingdom Fellowship of Ministries, a fellowship of Pastors, Businesses, and Non-Profit Organizations.

Bishop Brown is the Founder of RC Brown Enterprises, LLC, a Leadership Consulting Company.  He is the author of seven books, Wood Carriers 2.0, Waiting Well, I Get to Serve, Before I Undo My I Do, A Seat at The Table, Foundational Truths of Leadership, and God Needs a Volunteer.

With over 20 years of servant leadership and coaching experience, Bishop Brown has developed training and mentoring program for ministry leaders, educators, married couples, and singles.  Each of these programs is custom designed to provide practical strategies for participants to effectively lead in their personal, professional, and ministry lives.  Bishop Brown’s unique style of delivery is engaging, comforting, and inspiring.  One dose of “brown gravy” will have you singing and laughing all the way to your desired outcome.

Bishop Brown is married to the former Trena Townsend and they two children, Zion and CJ.
